A tiny bit less flexible, a lot more cost-effective

It helps reduce ambient noise and reverberation, and bleed sources can be shielded to an impressive extent. The t.bone MicScreen LE is a fixed screen that is easy to store and flexibly adjustable. It is a very affordable solution. The screen itself is 30 centimetres in height with a span of 46 centimetres, and the overall depth is 26.5 centimetres.

Perforated metal plate, membrane and foam

As with all screens, a microphone placed in front of the screen is acoustically shielded from sound approaching it from the back and from the sides. This results in a much less reverberant and noisy signal, making it much easier to edit, mix and apply effects. Shielding is achieved by a membrane and acoustic foam. The generous lyer of foam on the inside and the perforated metal plate prevent the t.bone MicScreen LE from becoming a parabolic dish itself. Anyone who has used an acoustic screen like the MicScreen LE is amazed how well it works even in standard living rooms and very reverberant recording venues.

Simple and straightforward to use

Setting it up is a piece of cake. The MicScreen LE attaches to the stand in place of the microphone holder. A locknut keeps it in place. This special locknut again has a thread for attaching the microphone holder or shock mount. The required height – typically the centre of the screen meeting the membrane – can easily be adjusted using the rails on the back of the MicScreen LE. This acoustic screen not only works perfectly for vocal and speech recording and streaming, it is also excellent for shielding instruments. And: It looks very classy!
