5. Which headphones are the right ones for me?

First, we need to clarify which application you need headphones for. We distinguish between closed-back, semi-open, and open-back headphones. Closed-back headphones create a seal between your ears and the environment. Open-back and semi-open headphones fit more loosely on the ear. They do not completely shield the ear from the outside so that sounds from the surroundings are fully or partially perceived.

Which headphones for which application?

DJ: Always closed, because isolation is necessary.

Monitoring: Always closed, because isolation is necessary.

Recording: Always closed to prevent microphone bleed.

Mixing: Preferably open or semi-open. A quiet environment is also very important.

Mastering: Preferably open or semi-open. A quiet environment is also very important.

Our Headphones page makes it easy to search and filter for the right headphones.

6. Can I connect Bluetooth headphones to an instrument or use them in the studio?

Bluetooth is generally not suitable for these applications, as it induces too much delay (latency).

7. I’m looking for an accessory. Where can I find it?

8. What’s the deal with all the different frequencies for wireless systems?

When it comes to wireless systems for microphones, in-ear monitoring or instruments, there are a few things to keep in mind. Each product transmits in a specific frequency band. But not every frequency band is free to use or available in every country due to local regulations. You can find out whether your product can be used free of charge in your country on the respective product page in the Thomann Shop. If you have any questions, we’ll be happy to help you. Use the contact form to send us a message.
