Not a one-trick pony

the t.bone BD 300

Fortunately, the t.bone BD 300 is not a one-trick pony. It can of course be used for any kind of bass drum, from small-format jazz kick drums to giant ones. It can be placed on the inside or outside, even when the bass drum head does not feature a resonance hole. But because of its capability to deal effortlessly with high sound pressure levels, the BD 300 is a perfect match for brass instruments as well. Not only deep tubas, euphoniums and sousaphones benefit from the BD 300’s characteristics, you’ll be astonished at how well it captures the powerful sound of trumpets or trombones – without losing detail.

Clever housing

the t.bone BD 300

As the microphone mount is integrated into the housing, the BD 300 can easily be positioned in front of or inside any bass drum. That’s clever: There are no special mounts that can get lost. Every t.bone BD 300 comes with a protective pouch and is ready to get connected via its XLR jack. As it is passive and has an impedance of only 70 ohms, it can be hooked up to any preamp, without the need for phantom power. Being a moving coil transducer microphone, the BD 300 is a robust, professional, yet inexpensive piece of gear.
