Microphone Mounts

This category contains Holders for Microphones. Microphones are attached using a detachable microphone holder screwed to the end of the boom. One of the most common mic clip uses two movable jaws to exert a sideways holding pressure and fix the mic in position. Mic holders usually are made of (flexible) plastic. There is a wide range of holders for specific uses and suitable for all kind of instruments. Shock mounts are microphone mounts that suspends the microphone in elastic straps. The main part of the shock mount is the elastic frame on the exterior. This helps reduce noise from the surrounding area, without affecting the sound of the microphone. Shock mounts are commonly used on studio microphones to prevent unwanted noise. The shock mount is used to partially isolate the mic from vibrations that might otherwise be transmitted through the mic stand, causing unwanted sounds to be added to the output signal.
