Zoom in, zoom out

the t.bone EM 9600

In “Tele” mode, the front lobe is narrower, allowing you to keep a longer distance from the sound source. This means that you can shoot at a wide angle without having to worry about your microphone appearing on screen or capturing too much unwanted background noise. And it sure is reassuring that both pickup patterns have a steady response from the low to the high frequencies.

Superclamp

the t.bone EM 9600

With a frequency range from 60 Hz to 18 kHz, the microphone easily captures everything that is needed for video and film purposes. A maximum sound pressure level of 102 dB is sufficient given the fact the 9600 will always be operated at a certain distance to the sound source. There are several ways to operate a shotgun microphone: on a stand or boom, mounted on the camera or handheld. To cover all those possibilities, the t.bone comes with a cleverly designed clamp – a real “superclamp”! It can be mounted to standard 5/8” or 3/8” threads or on a camera flash socket – and there’s even an integrated handle for handheld operation!

Phantom or battery, as you wish

the t.bone EM 9600

Shotguns are mainly used for video and broadcasting, but the EM 9600 is also an excellent choice for drum overheads, choir recordings and all kinds of acoustic instruments. For optimum flexibility, you can choose to power it via 48 V phantom power or from an internal 1.5 V battery. With a field sensitivity of up to 8.4 mV/Pa and an output impedance of 200 ohms, it connects very well to any preamplifier. The all-aluminium t.bone EM 9600 comes with the aforementioned “superclamp”, a 6-metre XLR cable and a windscreen to protect the signal from wind noises.
