High-class earphones with a budget-friendly price tag
The downside of many high-class in-ears is their often hefty price tag. The t.bone EP 4 come at a very reasonable price, but don’t be mistaken: these are definitely a premium-quality stage monitoring system. Many of their professional features are usually only found in considerably more expensive in-ears. This goes for their outstanding technical features, as well as for the way they are worn.
Nearly invisible
In-ear monitoring is preferable over conventional monitor speakers for several reasons, one of which is being independent from the venue’s acoustics. Naturally, in-ears should not draw attention away from the performer. This is why the visual footprint of the t.bone EP4 is very small. The earphone bodies are transparent and the cable is first routed upwards and then runs behind the outer ear and down the neck. Three types of silicone earpieces come with the EP 4, which ensures a comfortable but secure fit for nearly everyone – even when moving vividly. After 150 centimetres of length, the cable leads to an angled 3.5 mm (1/8“) stereo plug.
The housing is not the only thing that is transparent
With an impedance only 16 ohms, the t.bone EP 4 connect to all amplifiers – even less powerful ones – and produce up to 114 dB/mW. Classic dynamic (moving coil) wideband drivers cover the frequency range from 10 Hz up to 20 kHz, thus covering the whole spectrum a human can hear. This pair of in-ears sounds linear, very punchy and clear and delivers all the details needed for a perfect performance. The lightweight (6 grams!) EP 4s come with a box that holds the earphone bodies, earpieces and the cable, as well as an additional bag.
