Broadcast voice

The t.bone MB 7 Beta is a typical broadcast microphone. It gives you that strong and massive radio/podcast voice when used from a very short speaking distance, but retains high speech intelligibility because of a slight treble boost. You can use it without an additional pop screen, as a filter is integrated into the basket. And there’s no need for external suspension: that’s built-in, as well! The mic connects to your audio interface, external preamp, mixing console or podcasting station via a standard XLR cable. As it is a passive dynamic microphone, phantom power is not required.

„Upside-down you're turning me…“

Sorry for giving you a Diana Ross earworm. The MB 7’s fork mount allows you to operate the microphone broadcast-style hanging upside-down from a boom, not obstructing your gear, paperwork, or desk filming area. The MB 7 Beta can also be used conventionally on a microphone stand. This microphone might be a dedicated microphone for capturing speech, but it also makes a great vocal mic on stage and even in the studio – think „rock vocals“! It even works great on guitar amps, brass, drums, and various other instruments. Labelled a broadcast mic, it is truly an allrounder!

Cardioid to cancel out unwanted sound

A moving coil capsule converts sound waves to electric signals. Dynamic capsules like the MB 7 Beta are very robust and handle very high sound pressure levels without distorting. The cardioid polar pattern picks up sound from the front and rejects sound from the back. This reduces unwanted noises when podcasting or doing voice-overs, spill from other instruments when recording, and feedback when using the t.bone MB 7 Beta live on stage. Electromagnetic shielding safeguards the microphone output signal from electromagnetic interference like mobile phones. So not only the looks and the sound but the overall performance of the MB 7 Beta are truly professional.
