The microscope of microphones

In order to keep acoustic interferences and unwanted directivity at a minimum, the capsule is very small (¼ inch = 0.635 centimetres). In fact, even the body is as thin as possible to keep reflections away. Furthermore, the grid on the front is precisely computed to make the MM-1 a neutral measuring tool.
Use it with everything – conveniently

No matter if you’re employing the MM-1 to calibrate your speakers using their built-in processing or computer software or if you’re taking room measurements to plan or optimise your room acoustics, the t.bone MM-1 is the microphone that does the important translation from sound to signal for you. Quite conveniently, no specialized equipment is required to connect it. A standard XLR plug fits in the jack and the electronics run on standard phantom power that most preamps provide. By the way: The microphone accepts 9 to 52 volts, so there’s no need for 48 volts exactly!
Who said you cannot record audio with a measurement microphone?

This measurement microphone doubles as a splendid recording tool, as pressure microphones deliver a very natural and highly detailed sound. A pair of t.bone MM-1s make a powerful and genuine sounding drum overhead. Need an affordable room microphone for your recordings or an additional precision mike for the guitar cabinet? MM-1! With a sensitivity of 19.6 mV/Pa and 110 dB SPL max., it is a welcome addition to your microphone locker. The microphone ships with a clamp for mounting it on a stand and a foam windscreen that comes in handy when you need to calibrate a PA system at an outdoor venue.
