Large diaphragm stereo pair for hundreds of applications!

They’re also a great choice for capturing things like a church organ, room reverberation or ambient noises – and of course solo instruments, which can benefit greatly from being recorded in stereo. With a noise level of 10.3 dB(A) and 126 dB SPL max., you don’t have to worry about a source being too soft or too loud.
Which stereo recording technique? Pick one!

The t.bone SC 45 Stereoset gives you many options in terms of the stereo setup. As both microphones have a cardioid pickup pattern, you can choose to arrange the pair as an XY with variable recording angle, form a standard ORTF, a cardioid-AB and many other stereo recording techniques – or simply freely position them, as is often done when recording acoustic guitar, grand piano, pianino or drum overheads. And of course, you aren’t limited to stereo recordings with the pair. As they are independent microphones, you are free to record voice with the one and guitar with the other, for instance.
Bright and open sounding

The frequency response extends from 20 Hz to 18 kHz, with a slight dip where instruments and voices tend to sound sharp. The treble roll-off starts at very high frequencies, which lets the SC 450s appear quite bright and open! If you need a thinner sound or like to use the SC 450 in close proximity to the sound source, you will be glad to hear there’s a low cut filter available. And a switchable pad increases the maximum sound pressure level of the phantom-powered microphones by another 10 dB! The t.bone SC 450 Stereoset is shipped with matching shock mounts and a sturdy flight case.
